Overheating Analysis Building Bulletin 101
(BB101 – Ventilation for Schools)

  • Building Bulletin 101

Building Bulletin 101 is specifically intended as an assessment of overheating and air quality within new school buildings. However, the same standards may be successfully applied to other building types.

BB101 features three criteria which address thermal comfort and air quality, covering:

  • Ventilation Parameters – limits to minimum, average and maximum ventilation rates per person.
  • CO2 concentrations – limits to minimum, average and maximum CO2 concentrations.
  • Thermal Parameters – Limits to time spent above 28°C and 32°C and maximum internal/external temperature differential.
